Zardus Art of Massage | Mind and body relaxation through contemporary and alternative solutions | Gardiner MaineElizabeth Bryson - LMT

Since 1986, Elizabeth has been a licensed massage therapist maintaining successful private practices in North Carolina for over 15 years.  In 1991, she joined the county hospital providing massage therapy for oncology patients - she specialized in assisting patients with accessing difficult emotions through the use of touch.  In 1996, Elizabeth co-founded the Healing Arts Network (HAN), a grant funded program which expanded her work to others areas of the hospital and incorporated other modalities such as art, music, yoga, hypnosis, pet therapy and energy balancing.  Through HAN, she provided Trigger Point Therapy in the pain clinic and rehabilitation hospital as an alternative to cortisone injections.

In 2004, Elizabeth moved to Maine where she currently offers massage therapy for Maine General Hospice and serves on the planning committee for the Healthy Living Resource Center.  In addition, she offers private sessions at Zardus Art of Massage & Wellness Spa.  Elizabeth offers a variety of techniques based on the individual needs of each client including Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue, Myo-fascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy and Energy work.  Her emphasis work is a combination of Trigger Point Therapy and Energy work to assist in releasing the underlying emotions that cause physical pain, stress and tension in the body.  Blocked emotions such as anger and grief, cause energy blocks which result in a contraction of the soft tissue.  Using Trigger Point Therapy to locate these areas, Elizabeth works with the client to explore and release the pain tied with that emotion – breaking a pain cycle and clearing the block through energy movement.

Sally DaigleSally Daigle – Certified Usui Reiki Master

As a young child Sally had deep feelings for everything from people, animals, right down to the trees.  As she grew up, she was the person trying to fix, help or heal everyone and everything.  Along with being a very big stone collector from the age of ten, her father would take her around to different shops to buy stones. Later as an adult, she started working in hospitals and nursing homes as a Certified Nurses Aid - again wanting to help and heal. Later, she found an interest in the mental health system and to continued education classes at Kennebec Valley Community College, which aided in becoming a case manager for the local mental health service and crisis unit.  Life through her a curve and she became very ill and had to leave the work force.  This was when she became involved in Reiki healing and began taking classes and practicing Reiki on herself.  Through a collaboration of western medicine and Reiki, she was healed.  She has been a Reiki practitioner since 2011 and continues her training as a Reiki Master & Trainer.  During her sessions, she also utilizes the healing qualities of crystals and stones.  With her handmade gem stone jewelry, walking sticks and Reiki healing hands jewelry, she also provides her clients with healing options they can take with them.  Her gift to you is the combination of her love for stones and the energy they give within the healing energy of Reiki.  Together – you will find your inner healing peace.

Cathy Freeman – Certified Gendai Reiki-ho Shihan (Teacher) & Integrated Energy Therapy Master Instructor

Cathy was born into the military, in a Quonset hut, on a small Air Force Base. She lived the nomadic lifestyle until her thirteenth year, when her father retired and returned the family to Maine. After graduating high school, Cathy tried working locally and then away; finally finding her place as a civilian with the National Guard, back in Maine. She spent 31 years with the Guard, retiring in 2016 to answer another call.

Cathy was introduced to energy therapy in 2007, when someone spoke of Reiki. She had to know what it was and when she found out, she knew it had been calling her for her whole life. Finding the right method and the right teacher, Cathy decided to study and practice Gendai Reiki-ho, an Eastern style of this wonderful modality. She advanced to the Gokuikaiden Level (instructor level), which allowed her to teach and share the wonderful practice of Reiki Shihan.

Reiki enriched Cathy’s life in ways that are difficult to put into words, but with a thirst for knowledge and an inner voice calling, she was drawn to learn more. A friend introduced her to Integrated Energy Therapy and before she soon completed the Master-Instructor Level, allowing her to teach and share this modality as well.

"I do not know where my path may wander or what other exciting things I will be called to learn. I do know - I shall answer the call and I will continue to grow and share the knowledge with love and joy in my heart."
