Kim is a Holistic Massage Therapist and Registered Yoga Teacher. Her journey with the healing arts began with her first experience with Reiki in 2006. It left such a powerful impression that she attended her first Reiki class shortly after and has been practicing “energy work” ever since. In 2008, Kim retired from a 29-year career in State government to attend massage school at SpaTech Institute in Westbrook.. She has been doing massage and energetic bodywork since 2009 and teaching yoga since 2012.

Kim offers traditional table massage and 2-hour Thai Massage sessions. Find full descriptions of both here: www.kimnixonyoga.com. In a typical session, Kim will incorporate multiple techniques including Swedish Massage, Neuromuscular, and assisted stretching. She will also organically incorporate Reiki and elements of Polarity and Integrated Energy Therapy. She describes her style of massage as "energy-infused massage.” Kim sees massage, energetic bodywork, and yoga as “powerful medicine.” Her passion for sharing stems from her own personal experience with the healing benefits. The primary focus of Kim’s practice is to provide self-care tools to assist clients in managing stress, reducing pain, and strengthening their bodies.

Beyond her basic massage and yoga certifications, Kim also has her 500-hour advanced yoga teacher certification and specialty certifications in Thai Massage, Breathwork & Meditation, Yin Yoga, Polarity, Reiki, and Integrated Energy Therapy® (IET.) She is currently pursuing advanced studies in Yin Yoga.
